Ian Bradley wins the Streaker open at Ripon
A bright, blustery day for the Streakers who gathered at Ripon SC for this Northern Paddle event, 8 boats from the home club and 9 visitors including 1 from Norfolk.

Race 1 saw the event winner Ian Bradley enjoy close racing with Jonathan Chappel and Ian Whitfield, these three setting the standard others tried hard to match.

The Northerly wind increased in strength over the lunch break, with gusts over 20mph some of the more mature helms were finding it hard work to stay upright.

Race 2 saw Chappel take the lead with Whitfield and Bradley making him work hard to hang on to it, Rotherham’s Peter Cogill joined the hunt to take his best result of the day.

A reduced fleet of 8 boats started the final race which Bradley took command of right from the gun, opening up a huge lead which even allowed him time to recover from a couple of capsizes, Whitfield led the rest to the line followed closely by Pete Tyerman, with Chappel taking 4th and Chris Wright adding yet another 5th to his list of scores
